Between 08:00 and 09:00 in the morning, you'll be picked up from Chiang Rai Airport or a nearby hotel to the well-known Golden Triangle area. Here, you'll get to see some cool places on a city tour. This includes the Golden Buddha at Sop Ruak and the Hall of Opium Museum.
The Hall of Opium Museum is supported by Thailand's royal family. It gives you a detailed look at the history and politics behind the opium trade and how opium use affects health.
After that, you'll get on the Mekong Pearl. This is a special river ship made by German and Laotian teams. You'll get comfy in your cabin and get ready for a 6-day cruise.
In the evening, you can hang out on the ship's big decks and lounge. There's also a welcome dinner and reception to go to. Overnight on the cruise.
This morning, your big adventure on the Mekong River starts for real. You'll leave the Golden Triangle area, where Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand come together.
Today, you're heading to Huay Xai. It's a small town right on the border between Laos and Thailand. From there, your ship will take you through the beautiful landscapes of northern Laos to a small village called Pak Tha.
In Pak Tha, you'll hop on a long-tail boat for a trip on the Namtha River. You're going to visit a village where the Khmu people live. After that, your cruise ship will keep going down the river and stop for the night next to a sandbank. Overnight on the cruise.
As you move along, you'll notice more boats around. This part of the journey takes you through a busy area that you can only get to by water.
This is where you'll see some of the Mekong River's most stunning views. Imagine hills full of green plants, big rock shapes, and the river moving fast in some places and slow in others. It feels like a real adventure being on the Mekong because it's so powerful.

Your day starts with a walk around the city. You'll head to the famous Wat Xieng Thong temple. Its roofs are decorated with gold, and it's really impressive. Later, you'll spend the whole day checking out other cool spots in Luang Prabang.
In the evening, you'll walk up Mount Phou Si. From the top, you get an amazing view of the Mekong and Khan Rivers and the mountains around. After that, you can take a walk by the Mekong River or check out the colorful Hmong night market.
Luang Prabang has lots of great places to eat. Tonight, you can pick where you want to have dinner. There are plenty of choices in the city or by the river. Overnight on the cruise.
Early in the morning, you have the chance to see a special tradition in Luang Prabang, "Sai Bat", where people give food to monks on the streets. You can also check out the morning market where locals sell all sorts of things.
After you have breakfast, it's time to say farewell to the crew from Laos. You'll check out and leave the ship.

In the afternoon, you'll check in and get on either the Mekong Pearl, our cozy Laotian cruise ships. These special ships, owned by both German and Laotian folks, are the first to have rooms and travel the upper part of the Mekong River. Find your room, get comfy, and unpack for an 11-day journey (You can check in at 01:00 PM).
Later in the afternoon, you'll go on a city tour. The tour will show you the best parts of Laos's capital city. You'll see the Pha That Luang stupa, an iconic architecture of Laos, and the Patuxai, which is like Vientiane's version of the Arc de Triomphe.

MEKONG PEARL CRUISE POLICY
Every river cruise with Mekong Pearl is subject to changing depending onto the river conditions. So the itinerary of this tour could be changed. In addition, due to weather and river conditions, there will be sometimes small deviations in the tour program. These programs may be amended without prior notice according to navigating conditions and safety reasons.
Rates will be confirmed basing on the average prices for fuel and other cost. Rates are subject to change without prior notice. In the case the purchase costs rise by more than 10 %, there will be a supplement commensurate with the rise in cost even when the original confirmed rate was sent to the customer.
If the number of reservation is less than the minimum number of passengers, Top Mekong Cruises is authorized to cancel a cruise departure until latest 4 weeks before embarkation. In this case, passengers are refunded all payments by Top Mekong cruises.
1. Payment conditions
A 30 % deposit is required in order to make a booking. The full payment must be settled 45 days before the start of the cruise. Failure will result in cancellation of the booking.
For overdue bills, 5% of the interest per month will be applied. Top Mekong Cruises will take no responsibilities for bank surcharges for international transactions. Bank surcharges must be paid by the money sender.
Our bank details will be advised upon confirmation of your reservation. Payments from overseas shall be done by telegraphic transfer. Credit Card payment is accepted too - in this case an additional 3% of the invoicing amount is required as processing fee.

Cancellation before 130 days prior to the start of the cruise: 30 % of the total rate
Between 130 and 70 days prior to the start of the cruise: 50 % of the total rate
Between 70 and 35 days prior to the start of the cruise: 70 % of the total rate
