Today, the ship stays in Luang Prabang. This gives you a chance to look around this beautiful place, which is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening, you can check out the night market. Here, local people sell things they've made.
Later, you can relax on the ship's big decks or in the lounge area. We'll have a welcome party and dinner for you. During the cruise, you'll get to try a mix of Asian and European dishes. Overnight on the cruise.
Early in the morning, you have the chance to see a special tradition in Luang Prabang, "Sai Bat", where people give food to monks on the streets.
While you're having breakfast on the ship, we'll set off on an amazing journey down the river. We'll go through parts of the Mekong River that are usually hard to get to. Later on, you'll go on a guided trip to see the Kuang Si Falls. These are some of the prettiest waterfalls in Laos.

Starting at 11:00 AM, before lunch, you'll get on your cozy Laotian cruise ship. These special ships, owned by both German and Laotian folks, are the first to have rooms on the upper part of the Mekong River.
Once you're on the ship, find your room, get settled, and unpack for a 6-day journey. After you eat lunch on the ship, you'll go check out the lovely town of Luang Prabang.
When you come back to the ship in the evening, we've got a celebration planned. There will be a local dance show and a traditional Baci friendship ceremony. Overnight on the cruise.
While you're having breakfast, the cruise will keep moving up the river. It stops at the well-known Pak Ou Caves, where you'll find thousands of small Buddha statues inside.
After visiting the caves, you have a choice. You can take a short walk through the jungle to a small village by the river and check out their distillery. Or, if you prefer, you can get to the village easily by boat.
If you're lucky, you might also see some elephants working nearby, unless they're busy somewhere else when you visit.
In the afternoon, the ship will keep going up the river, heading towards Oudomxay Province. Overnight on the cruise.

Between 08:00 and 09:00 in the morning, you'll be picked up from Chiang Rai Airport or a nearby hotel to the well-known Golden Triangle area. Here, you'll get to see some cool places on a city tour. This includes the Golden Buddha at Sop Ruak and the Hall of Opium Museum.
The Hall of Opium Museum is supported by Thailand's royal family. It gives you a detailed look at the history and politics behind the opium trade and how opium use affects health.

In the afternoon, you'll check in and get on either the Mekong Sun, our cozy Laotian cruise ships. These special ships, owned by both German and Laotian folks, are the first to have rooms and travel the upper part of the Mekong River. Find your room, get comfy, and unpack for an 11-day journey (You can check in at 01:00 PM).
Later in the afternoon, you'll go on a city tour. The tour will show you the best parts of Laos's capital city. You'll see the Pha That Luang stupa, an iconic architecture of Laos, and the Patuxai, which is like Vientiane's version of the Arc de Triomphe.
After the tour, you'll come back to the ship, which will start moving up the river. You can relax on the big decks or in the lounge area. There's a welcome party and dinner waiting for you. During the cruise, you'll get to try a mix of Asian and European dishes. Overnight on the cruise.
In the afternoon, take in the beautiful sights and check out the cool things in nature along the sides of the Mekong River. Then, your special river ship will find a peaceful spot to stop and stay for the night. Overnight on the cruise.
As you go further north, the views get even more amazing. You'll see hills full of green plants, huge rocks by the river, and parts of the river that move fast and some that move slowly.
Then, you'll stop and visit the charming town of Salakham. It feels like a real adventure being on the powerful Mekong River. You can enjoy the lovely scenery and spot cool things in nature along the river's edges. Then, your ship will move north a bit more and find a place to stop for the night. Overnight on the cruise.
Going up the river, you'll make a stop at Ban Don Saingam, a little farming village. Here, you can join a short 30-minute walk to check out a secret cave. This cave is a special spot that only guests of Top Mekong Cruises get to see. The area around is all natural, with just a few small villages here and there, and some herds of cattle.
In the afternoon, you can chill out on the sun deck and enjoy the pretty views. We've also got some talks planned about Laos' history and culture if you're interested.
Later on, just relax on the ship. It's got a cozy and laid-back vibe, but with top-notch service to make you feel special. Overnight on the cruise.
While you're having breakfast on the ship, you can take in the lovely view. You might even see some local fishermen working along the shore.
As we move along, keep an eye out for the Xayabouri Dam. It's the biggest place in Laos where they make electricity from water.
In the afternoon, you'll get to meet the people who live in a small hill tribe village. Our guests often visit this village, and we help support it with donations. Overnight on the cruise.
In the morning, you'll go on a guided trip to see the Kuang Si Falls. These are some of the prettiest waterfalls in Laos.
By the afternoon, you'll arrive in Luang Prabang. This place used to be the royal capital of Laos and is now protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a walk up Mount Phou Si for an amazing view of the Mekong and Khan Rivers and the mountains around.
Later, you can walk by the Mekong River and check out the colorful night market run by the local Hmong people.
When you get back on the ship, we'll have a celebration. There will be local dance shows and a traditional Baci friendship ceremony. Overnight on the cruise.
Early in the morning, you have the chance to see a special tradition in Luang Prabang, "Sai Bat", where people give food to monks on the streets. You can also check out the morning market where locals sell all sorts of things.
After you have breakfast on the ship, we'll take you on a tour around the city. You'll see the National Museum of Luang Prabang, which used to be a royal palace, and a village where they make local crafts.
After lunch on the ship, you'll get to see more of Luang Prabang. This town has lots of great places to eat. So tonight, you can pick where you want to have dinner. There are plenty of choices in the town or by the river. Overnight on the cruise.
While you're having breakfast, the cruise will keep moving up the river. It stops at the well-known Pak Ou Caves, where you'll find thousands of small Buddha statues inside.
After visiting the caves, you have a choice. You can take a short walk through the jungle to a small village by the river and check out their distillery. Or, if you prefer, you can get to the village easily by boat.
If you're lucky, you might also see some elephants working nearby, unless they're busy somewhere else when you visit.
In the afternoon, the ship will keep going up the river, heading towards Oudomxay Province. Overnight on the cruise.
As you go further up the river, you'll notice fewer boats around. This lets you really take in the amazing views all around you.

Today, you can kick back and relax on the deck. You'll be surrounded by all kinds of beautiful views and the peacefulness of northern Laos. It's a nice break from the busy everyday life you're used to.
As the ship moves along the green hills, you'll get closer to the small village of Pak Tha. Here, you have the chance to hop on a long-tail boat for a trip on the Namtha River. This boat will take you to a nearby village where the Khmu people live.
In the evening, you will enjoy our famous Top Mekong Cruises barbecue dinner by a beautiful riverside. Overnight on the cruise.
Have your last breakfast on the ship and wave farewell to the crew from Laos. By late morning, you'll arrive at Ban Huay Xai and leave the ship.
After that, you'll check out a temple and a traditional market. Then, you'll cross over from Laos into Thailand at the Friendship Bridge. From there, you'll head to the airport or go to a hotel within Chiang Rai City. End of services.

Between 08:00 and 09:00 in the morning, you'll be picked up from Chiang Rai Airport or a nearby hotel to the well-known Golden Triangle area. Here, you'll get to see some cool places on a city tour. This includes the Golden Buddha at Sop Ruak and the Hall of Opium Museum.
The Hall of Opium Museum is supported by Thailand's royal family. It gives you a detailed look at the history and politics behind the opium trade and how opium use affects health.
After that, you'll get on the Mekong Sun. This is a special river ship made by German and Laotian teams. You'll get comfy in your cabin and get ready for an 11-day cruise.
In the evening, you can hang out on the ship's big decks and lounge. There's also a welcome dinner and reception to go to. Overnight on the cruise.
This morning, your big adventure on the Mekong River starts for real. You'll leave the Golden Triangle area, where Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand come together.
Today, you're heading to Huay Xai. It's a small town right on the border between Laos and Thailand. From there, your ship will take you through the beautiful landscapes of northern Laos to a small village called Pak Tha.
In Pak Tha, you'll hop on a long-tail boat for a trip on the Namtha River. You're going to visit a village where the Khmu people live. After that, your cruise ship will keep going down the river and stop for the night next to a sandbank. Overnight on the cruise.
As you move along, you'll notice more boats around. This part of the journey takes you through a busy area that you can only get to by water.
This is where you'll see some of the Mekong River's most stunning views. Imagine hills full of green plants, big rock shapes, and the river moving fast in some places and slow in others. It feels like a real adventure being on the Mekong because it's so powerful.

Every river cruise is subject to changing depending onto the river conditions. So the itinerary of this tour could be changed. In addition, due to weather and river conditions, there will be sometimes small deviations in the tour program. These programs may be amended without prior notice according to navigating conditions and safety reasons.
Rates will be confirmed basing on the average prices for fuel and other cost. Rates are subject to change without prior notice. In the case the purchase costs rise by more than 10 %, there will be a supplement commensurate with the rise in cost even when the original confirmed rate was sent to the customer.
If the number of reservation is less than the minimum number of passengers, Top Mekong Cruises is authorized to cancel a cruise departure until latest 4 weeks before embarkation. In this case, passengers are refunded all payments by Top Mekong cruises.
1. Payment conditions
A 30 % deposit is required in order to make a booking. The full payment must be settled 45 days before the start of the cruise. Failure will result in cancellation of the booking.
For overdue bills, 5% of the interest per month will be applied. Top Mekong Cruises will take no responsibilities for bank surcharges for international transactions. Bank surcharges must be paid by the money sender.
Our bank details will be advised upon confirmation of your reservation. Payments from overseas shall be done by telegraphic transfer. Credit Card payment is accepted too – in this case an additional 3% of the invoicing amount is required as processing fee.

Cancellation before 130 days prior to the start of the cruise: 30 % of the total rate
Between 130 and 70 days prior to the start of the cruise: 50 % of the total rate
Between 70 and 35 days prior to the start of the cruise: 70 % of the total rate
