Day 01 Arrival Siem Reap - Angkor Wat

Our guide will meet you at Siem Reap International Airport or your local hotel in Siem Reap and take you to a local restaurant for lunch before you check into your hotel.

In the afternoon, we'll see Cambodia's most famous temple, Angkor Wat. It's stunning to look at, with a huge pyramid shape and five towers on top that look like beehives, standing 65 meters tall. Angkor Wat is a must-see when visiting the area.

End the day with a beautiful sunset view from Bakheng Hill.

Day 02 Temples of Angkor

After breakfast at your hotel, get ready for a day filled with adventure as we visit the many temples and ruins of the Angkor Empire. In the morning, we'll explore the big area around the impressive Bayon Temple.

After lunch at a local spot, we'll check out more hidden temples, including the amazing and jungle-covered Ta Prohm, known from the Tomb Raider movie.

In the evening, get ready for a real Cambodian treat as we watch a fantastic show by young, talented performers at Phare Ponleu Selpak's Circus. This show isn't just fun; it's part of a project that helps Cambodian youth learn skills and find jobs.

Day 03 Siem Reap - Kampong Cham

Leave your hotel and come to the lobby at 09:00 AM to sign up and head to your RV Mekong Pandaw ship.

We'll take a bus from Siem Reap to Kampong Cham to get on the ship. Enjoy a sunset boat ride on the Mekong and say hello to the crew you'll be with for the next 7-night-cruise.

Day 04 Angkor Ban Village - Silk Island

We'll catch the sunrise as we head to Angkor Ban village to see the daily life of the locals and check out the library given by Pandaw to the local school.

NOTE: If you want to give books, feel free to bring children's books in English (good for ages 8 to 15) to give to the library yourself.

After lunch, we go to Koh Nghe Tei (Silk Island) to learn how silk is made, from the silkworms to the final weaving. We'll meet silk weavers and have the chance to buy their beautiful silk scarves and fabrics. This village is also known for L’bokator, an ancient Cambodian martial art that means 'pounding a lion', involving weapon skills. It's one of Cambodia's oldest fighting styles, dating back to the Angkor era.

Day 05 Oudong - Kampong Tralach

In the morning, we'll take a bus to Oudong, Cambodia's old capital. Along the way, we'll stop at the Vipassana Dhura Meditation Centre and then take a tour around the city. We'll get back on the ship in Kampong Tralach for lunch.

In the afternoon, we'll ride ox-carts through villages, markets, and temples by the river.

In the evening, we'll have cocktails around a village fire pit, and local people will join us to share their traditional dances and more about their wonderful Khmer culture.

Day 06 Phnom Penh

In the morning, we'll take a cyclo tour around Phnom Penh, stopping at the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, then checking out the National Museum to see its amazing Angkor-era statues.

In the afternoon, we'll visit the Killing Fields and Genocide Museum to learn about the harsh Khmer Rouge rule.

We'll stay overnight at Phnom Penh's city port, which is full of lively bars, restaurants, and nightlife.

Day 07 Border Crossing - Chau Doc

We lift the anchor early in the morning and head down the Mekong River towards the Vietnam border to go through immigration checks. Then, the ship moves on to Chau Doc.

In the evening, we'll have a lion dance show on the ship.

Day 08 Chau Doc - Con Phuoc Island

In the morning, we take minivans for a quick trip to Sam Mountain to see the Hang Pagoda. We'll walk up 400 steps to see the pagoda. Next, we'll visit the beautiful border town of Chau Doc and see the floating fish farms from a small boat. We'll also stop at Cham Village to see how Vietnamese Muslims live.

After lunch on the ship, we head to Con Phuoc for our next adventure. We'll go through a narrow canal to Con Phuoc Island to watch locals weave bamboo baskets and even try making one ourselves. Then, we'll ride a tuk tuk around the village, visit a 100-year-old church, and meet more locals.

The ship then heads to Sa Dec to stay the night.

Day 09 Ben Tre - My Tho

The ship heads to Ben Tre for a trip on land.

After lunch, we take small boats through mangroves and bamboo forests to see the fruit farms of Ben Tre, a place with lots of birds. We'll travel around using local ways of getting around, then switch to a small rowboat. We'll gently move through canals lined with bamboo until we reach a village known for its local crafts. The ship then moves on and stops at My Tho pier.

In the evening, enjoy a dance show by a Vietnamese group on the ship's deck.

Day 10 Arrival Saigon

In the morning, disembark and take a bus from My Tho to Saigon.

You'll have free time to look around the city. We recommend going to Nguyen Hue walking street in the evening to watch different artists and performers and see how the locals hang out in true Vietnamese style.

Day 11 Cu Chi Tunnels - Saigon City Tour

In the morning, we'll drive about 65 km (1.5 hours) from Saigon to see the amazing Cu Chi tunnels, made by the Viet Cong guerillas.

After that, we'll head back to the city for lunch at a local spot, then check out Saigon's main attractions. We'll see the Reunification Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, the old US Embassy, City Hall, and the War Museum of Remnants.

We'll finish the day with some shopping at Ben Thanh Market, an old landmark in Saigon that's now a popular place for tourists to shop.

In the evening, enjoy a dance show by a Vietnamese group on deck.

Day 04 Con Phuoc Island

Cruising through the delta really shows you what life is like along this big river.

After lunch, we go down a narrow canal and land on Con Phuoc Island to see locals weaving bamboo baskets the old-fashioned way. We'll watch how it's done and then give it a try ourselves. Next, we hop on a local tuk tuk for a ride around this quiet village, stopping at a 100-year-old church and chatting with more friendly locals.

After dinner on the ship, we head to Tan Chau to stay the night.

Day 05 Chau Doc - Border Crossing

In the morning, we take minivans for a quick trip to Sam Mountain to see the Hang Pagoda. We'll climb 400 steps to check out the pagoda at the top. Then, we'll head to the scenic border town of Chau Doc to see the floating fish farms by boat. We'll also visit Cham Village to see how Vietnamese Muslims live and watch a lion dance performance there.

When we get back to the ship, we'll sail through a bunch of canals and then stop at the Vietnam/Cambodia border to go through Immigration checks.

Day 08 Oudong - Silk Island

In the morning, we take a bus to Oudong, Cambodia's old capital. On the way, we'll stop at the Vipassana Dhura Meditation Centre and then drive around Oudong. We'll get back on our ship at Prek Kdam and head back to the Mekong River.

After lunch, we go to Koh Nghe Tei (Silk Island) to learn how silk is made, from the silkworms to the final weaving. We'll meet silk weavers and have the chance to buy their beautiful silk scarves and fabrics. This village is also known for L’bokator, an ancient Cambodian martial art that means 'pounding a lion', involving weapon skills. It's one of Cambodia's oldest fighting styles, dating back to the Angkor era.

Disembark and take a bus from Kampong Cham through the beautiful countryside to get to Siem Reap, near Angkor Wat.

Your guide will greet you in Siem Reap, get you lunch, and then help you check in. Later, we'll go see Cambodia's most famous temple, Angkor Wat. It's stunning in every way, with a huge pyramid shape topped by five towers that look like beehives, standing 65 meters tall. Angkor Wat is a must-see when visiting the area.

End the day with a lovely sunset view from Bakheng Hill.

Day 05 Koh Trong Island

Check out Koh Trong Island, a place known for tourism since 2008. We'll walk through fruit farms and try some local snacks. Then, we'll go to a tree-planting project and help the locals plant trees. We'll moor by the island for the night.

Day 06 Kratie and The Dolphin Grounds

In the morning, we'll take a bus and a small boat to see the Irrawaddy dolphins near Stung Treng. Even though there are more dolphins now, they're still at risk. We'll find out how the locals and us are helping to keep the dolphin numbers up. Seeing the dolphins is one of the best parts of the trip.

Day 07 Phnom Penh

In the morning, we'll take a cyclo tour around Phnom Penh, stopping at the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, then checking out the National Museum to see its amazing Angkor-era statues.

We'll take a local boat to check out the fish farms and hidden spots near this busy trading town. Around the lake's edge, there are big bamboo fish traps in the water. When we get back to the ship, we'll go into the Tonle Sap Lake and stay parked in the open water overnight, enjoying the quiet and calm of this huge lake that gets really big when it's full and much smaller when it's dry.

Day 10 Tonle Sap

Keep crossing the big lake and stop to see a village that floats on the water. We'll get to Siem Reap's port by evening. There are lots of birds around the lake, so keep an eye out for the grey-headed fish eagle. You'll also find crocodiles and snakes in these shallow waters, which are home to the huge Mekong catfish. The biggest one caught weighed 648 pounds in May 2004. The lake has 148 different kinds of fish, which are a major food source for people in Cambodia.

Day 11 Siem Reap - Disembarkation

Disembark at Siem Reap Port and take a quick car ride to Siem Reap city.

After a quick 45-minute drive to Siem Reap's inland port, we get on the ship and head out into Tonle Sap Lake. There are lots of birds around the lake, so keep an eye out for the grey-headed fish eagle. You'll also find plenty of crocodiles and snakes in the shallow waters, home to the huge Mekong catfish. The biggest one caught weighed 648 pounds in May 2004. The lake has 148 different kinds of fish, which are a key food source for people in Cambodia.

In the afternoon, we'll check out a village that floats on the lake and learn about life there.

Day 02 Tonle Sap - Kampong Chhnang

Keep going across this peaceful lake until we get to Kampong Chhnang, a busy trading town known for fishing and making pottery. We'll take a local boat to see the hidden spots before getting back on our ship and heading down the river to park next to a quiet fishing village.

In the evening, we'll have cocktails around a campfire with the villagers.

Day 03 Kampong Tralach

In the morning, we get to Kampong Tralach and ride ox-carts through villages, markets, and temples by the river to see what life is like there. After lunch, we check out Oudong, the old capital, and the Vipassana Dhura meditation center. Then we stop at Koh Chen, a village where they've been making silver items for the royal families for hundreds of years.

Day 04 Phnom Penh

In the morning, we'll take a cyclo tour around Phnom Penh, stopping at the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, then checking out the National Museum to see its amazing Angkor-era statues.

In the afternoon, we'll visit the Killing Fields and Genocide Museum to learn about the harsh Khmer Rouge rule. We'll stay overnight at Phnom Penh's city port, which is full of lively bars, restaurants, and nightlife.

Day 05 Angkor Ban Village

We'll catch the sunrise as we head to Angkor Ban village to see the daily life of the locals and check out the library given by Pandaw to the local school.

NOTE: If you want to give books, feel free to bring children's books in English (good for ages 8 to 15) to give to the library yourself.

Day 06 Koh Trong Island

Check out Koh Trong Island, a place known for tourism since 2008. We'll walk through fruit farms and try some local snacks. Then, we'll go to a tree-planting project and help the locals plant trees. We'll moor by the island for the night.

Day 07 Kratie and The Dolphin Grounds

In the morning, we'll take a bus and a small boat to hopefully see the Irrawaddy dolphins that live in the water near Stung Treng. Seeing the dolphins is one of the best parts of the trip.

Day 08 Border Crossing - Chau Doc

We lift the anchor early in the morning and head down the Mekong River towards the Vietnam border to go through immigration checks. Then, the ship moves on to Chau Doc.

In the afternoon, we take minivans for a quick trip to Sam Mountain to see the Hang Pagoda. We'll climb 400 steps to check out the pagoda at the top. Then, we'll head to the scenic border town of Chau Doc to see the floating fish farms by boat. We'll also visit Cham Village to see how Vietnamese Muslims live and watch a lion dance performance there.

Day 09 Con Phuoc Island

Today, we head to Con Phuoc for our next adventure. We'll go through a narrow canal to Con Phuoc Island to watch locals weave bamboo baskets and even try making one ourselves. Then, we'll ride a tuk tuk around the village, visit a 100-year-old church, and meet more locals.

Day 10 Ben Tre

Today, we'll take small boats through mangroves and bamboo forests to see the fruit farms of Ben Tre, a place with lots of birds. We'll travel around using local ways of getting around, then switch to a small rowboat. We'll gently move through canals lined with bamboo until we reach a village known for its local crafts.

Day 11 Saigon - Disembarkation

After breakfast, disembark in the center of Saigon to continue your trip.

We'll catch the sunrise as we head to Angkor Ban village to see the daily life of the locals and check out the library given by Pandaw to the local school.

After lunch, we go to Koh Nghe Tei (Silk Island) to learn how silk is made, from the silkworms to the final weaving. We'll meet silk weavers and have the chance to buy their beautiful silk scarves and fabrics. This village is also known for L’bokator, an ancient Cambodian martial art that means 'pounding a lion', involving weapon skills. It's one of Cambodia's oldest fighting styles, dating back to the Angkor era.

The ship heads to Ben Tre for a trip on land.

After lunch, we take small boats through mangroves and bamboo forests to see the fruit farms of Ben Tre, a place with lots of birds. We'll travel around using local ways of getting around, then switch to a small rowboat. We'll gently move through canals lined with bamboo until we reach a village known for its local crafts. The ship then moves on and stops at My Tho pier.

In the evening, enjoy a dance show by a Vietnamese group on the ship's deck.

Day 08 My Tho - Saigon

In the morning, disembark and take a bus from My Tho to Saigon.

Disembark and take a bus from Kampong Cham through the beautiful countryside to get to Siem Reap, near Angkor Wat.

After lunch, we go down a narrow canal and land on Con Phuoc Island to see locals weaving bamboo baskets the old-fashioned way. We'll watch how it's done and then give it a try ourselves. Next, we hop on a local tuk tuk for a ride around this quiet village, stopping at a 100-year-old church and chatting with more friendly locals.

After dinner on the ship, we head to Tan Chau to stay the night.

Day 03 Chau Doc - Border Crossing

In the morning, we take minivans for a quick trip to Sam Mountain to see the Hang Pagoda. We'll climb 400 steps to check out the pagoda at the top. RV MEKONG PANDAW POLICY

1. Alteration of schedule and cruise itinerary

Though every effort will be made to ensure that the published itinerary is followed as closely as possible, given uncertain river and other local conditions, all schedules and itineraries maybe subject to alterations and delays at short notice.

2. Change point of embarkation and disembarkation

Should it prove difficult to embark or disembark passengers at the scheduled points, RV Mekong Pandaw is not liable to bear any extra cost of transporting passengers to and from the revised point of joining the cruise or disembarking unless passengers or their agents have purchased a complete package tour which includes land services from us. Any reason for changing the points of embarkation or disembarkation cannot count as a reason for cancelling this contract.

3. Fuel surcharge

Within the ticket price fuel costs have been calculated on average prices as of the publication of this document. Should fuel prices rise by more than 10% the company will be entitled to impose a fuel supplement equivalent to the amount by which the fuel price exceeds the price allowed for in the contract.

4. Deposit

If a booking is made more than 65 days prior departure date, a 30% non-refundable deposit must be made at the time of booking. Balance must be made at least 65 days before departure.

If a booking is made less than 65 days prior departure date, full fare payment must be made within 48 hours.

*Certain special offers may require higher non-refundable deposits. These will be advised to you at the time of booking.

5. Cancellation by us

In the event that we are unable to provide cruise services to passengers with confirmed bookings or departures where occupancy is less than 5 cabins, RV Mekong Pandaw reserves the rights to cancel the journey giving all passengers with confirmed bookings 30 days prior notice of this intention. An alternative cruise vessel (similar itinerary and ship category) or an alternative departure date will be offered subject to availability. Any surcharges or difference in cruise prices will be born or reimbursed by RV Mekong Pandaw. If this alternative date or the alternative vessel is not acceptable to the passenger any down payments made for the cancelled cruise will be refunded. In the event that a passenger has cancelled and paid cancellation fees and RV Mekong Pandaw subsequently cancels that departure then any cancellation fees (and down payment) will be refunded in full on the request of the passenger.

6. Cancellation by Customer

If you want to cancel your booking, you must inform us via fax or email. The followings cancellation charges will be applied:

Cancellations made 65 days or more before departure: 30% charge of total price
From 64 days and less till departure, no show: 100% charge of total price

*In the event of cancellations, wire fees and credit card commissions will be deducted when calculating refunds.

7. Children Price & Extra Bed

Infants below the age of 4 years may sleep in their parent's cabin without extra charge but RV Mekong Pandaw cannot guarantee the availability of a cot. Children from over 4 years up to 18 years old get:

1 adult and 1 child stay in 1 cabin – child receives 50% reduction from adult price
2 adults and 1 child stay in 2 cabins – 1 cabin with no single supplement and 50% reduction for the child
2 adults and 2 children stay in 2 cabins – 50% reduction for both children. Larger family groups – prices on request

8. Insurance

We strongly advise travelers to purchase trip cancellation insurance. In this case, guests will be reimbursed the cost of air tickets and other non-refundable trip payments. We also highly recommend guests to get international medical, baggage loss and delay insurance in the case of bad situations. RV Mekong Pandaw will take no responsibility for lost or stolen personal belongings.

9. Dietary needs

For travelers with special dietary needs, they should contact with us at least 30 days prior to embarkation. The cruise liner will make the outmost effort to provide special dietary needs and requests basing on product’s availability.

10. Travelers’ responsibilities

All the travelers taking the cruise should take responsibilities towards their fellow passengers and the crew of RV Mekong Pandaw. Travelers should review the conditions of the trip itinerary and have a proper social behavior with fellow passengers and crew members. They should observe all the safety requirements on board and on excursions.
