Day 01 Huay Xai - Embarkation - Khon Teun - Huay Ting

After meeting guests post-Lao immigration, we head by minivan to the Anouvong Cruise, docked at Huay Xai Per. Our crew handles check-in and luggage as we set off on a 7-night Upper Mekong cruise.

En route to our first stop, our guide introduces Laos' ethnic diversity along the Mekong. You'll soon explore these cultures firsthand.

Passing the Mekong and a tributary, we approach a modern village of 800 Tai Lu people, known across several countries. We'll experience the Baci ceremony, a warm and sincere Laotian ceremony done by local older people, giving good wishes for your trip.

The ship then sails to Huay Ting, where we anchor on a sandbank for the night, starting with a welcome cocktail and dinner amidst stunning scenery. Welcome to the Laotian Mekong experience.

Day 02 Huay Ting - Pakbeng - Khok Ek

Get up early to see the sunrise over the river and come to our morning yoga if you're interested.

Take your time in the morning, with a simple breakfast followed by a rich culinary brunch, celebrating the journey's end. You can immerse yourself in a presentation about the Golden Triangle's history, covering its colonial, opium, and conflict narratives, as we sail through this iconic region.

Sailing down the river, we stop after lunch at Pak Ou Caves, home to around 4,000 Buddhist figures. We'll explore the easily accessible lower cave. Then, Heritage Line offers two options: a kayak trip on the Nam Ou River for a serene adventure or a boat ride to Ban Muang Keo for a silk weaving demo and a visit to a local healer who uses natural remedies.

Continuing to Luang Prabang, we arrive by late afternoon. You can stroll around this enchanting town after dinner. We suggest relaxing in a café to soak in the town's calming vibe.

Day 03 Khok Ek - Pak Ou - Luang Prabang

Day 04 Luang Prabang

Start your day with a beautiful sunrise, fresh coffee, and tea in the lounge, followed by a rejuvenating yoga session on the deck near a famous temple.

After breakfast, join us for a walking tour through the peaceful streets of UNESCO-listed Luang Prabang, led by our expert guide. Explore the old town's unique architecture and hear stories about its historic buildings, including a stop for a traditional Lao tea break at the Lamache house, once an ice cream supplier to the royal family.

Post-lunch, delve into Luang Prabang's history with a visit to the National Museum, the former Royal Palace, showcasing royal artifacts. Then, enjoy some free time in the city, perhaps relaxing at a street café.

In the evening, dine at Le Caloa restaurant for an outdoor meal with entertainment, then return to the ship or explore the Night Market.

Day 05 Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfalls - Xayabouri

Witness the spiritual "Tak Bat" ceremony at dawn, where monks in saffron robes walk in procession before we leave Luang Prabang and sail down the Mekong.

Our first stop is the Laos Buffalo Dairy Farm, showcasing the rise of dairy in Laos with local production of cheese, ice cream, and yogurt. Next, we visit the stunning Kuang Si waterfalls, perfect for hiking and swimming in its turquoise pools.

Continuing downstream, we approach Laos' first major dam, discussing its impact on the country's energy sector and ambition to be Southeast Asia's 'battery'. We moor near the Xayaburi Dam, preparing for the next day, and end the evening with a classic movie in our lounge cinema.

Day 06 Xayabouri - Don Saynhan

In the morning, guests see the Xayaburi Dam, a significant structure the ship navigates with the help of a large water gate.

Onboard, we offer 2 onboard activities: a lecture on Lao royalty, focusing on King Anouvong, and a cooking class featuring Lao-Thai cuisine, creating lasting memories through food.

As we sail, the landscape becomes rockier, leading us to Don Saynhan in the afternoon. We explore the area and Khao Cave, known for its bat population and natural formations, by Tuk Tuk.

We stay overnight here. Before dinner, join us for snacks and a preview of tomorrow's plans. You can spend your evening relaxing on deck or with a reflexology session for a peaceful night's sleep.

Day 07 Don Saynhan - Pha Liep - Sandbank

Today, we visit Pha Liep, nestled among limestone mountains, for an authentic glimpse into local life and culture.

You will explore the Lao Loum community's traditional boat-making and a local whiskey distillery, where the craft of creating Lao whiskey, a national favorite, is demonstrated. You should try "Laotian whiskey cola" - a tasty twist on the famous Cuba Libre.

After enjoying some local fun, we're back on the river, heading to a unique spot to anchor for the night. We'll stop at a secluded sandbar, wrapping up our trip on a high note. Join us for a cocktail party to celebrate our Mekong memories, followed by a romantic barbecue dinner under the stars in Laos.

Day 08 Sandbank - Disembarkation - Vientiane

Catch your final sunrise on the ship with some deck yoga. If the weather's good, we'll have breakfast outside so you can enjoy the views until we get to Pak Lay. Please have your bags packed and ready by 09:00 AM for check-out. We'll then take you to Vientiane in minivans, getting there by about 12:30 PM. End of services.
